Omega Seamaster 60 ‘Big Crown’ NOS

New Old Stock!

Finding a truly new watch from 1970 is incredibly rare, definitely when it’s from a big swiss manufacturer like Omega. Pieces like this are called new old stock (NOS) and are desired by watch collectors who only want the best pieces.

1948, the 100th anniversary of Omega, the same year when the Seamaster was introduced. The Seamaster’s first design was more of a stainless steel dress watch with a 35mm. waterproof case. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, the Seamaster collection was broadened with more models and diver designs. The most famous one is probably the Seamaster 300 with a big triangle index on the 12 o’clock. In 1969 a new member was added to the Seamaster collection; the Seamaster 60. This new diver was slightly smaller than it’s predecessor with a diameter of 37mm. A nice size for someone who wants a modest-sized diver.

Don’t think this watch is small, the big crown and domed plexiglass make it look a lot bigger. The automatic movement runs great and this diver even shows the date. This is such a watch where you’ll get everything you want on a vintage diver for a fair price, and like new! The blue dial with the racing-checkered outer-ring is sporty and retro with a bakelite bezel to top it all off. The original red seal on the case back is intact which means this watch has never been opened.

A watch like this doesn’t come through the shop every day, so if you’re interested please contact us for more information. To see this cool pice in person; visit our store, we’re located in the Reestraat, Amsterdam.
