Universal Geneve Polerouter Sub Ref. 20369-1
This is something truly special. A very rare Gerald Genta-designed dive watch by Universal Geneve.
This is a true compressor case diver, with the typical internal rotating dive time bezel operated via the top crown. Speaking of the crowns, they are two different styles, which is correct for this early model. The bottom one has been replaced at some point.
Moving on to the dial, we have a gilt dial with stunning ageing effects. The surface is evenly spotted, creating a beautiful blend of gold and black. The original tritium is still present and intact.
Inside ticks the caliber 215. Its defining characteristic is the micro-rotor architecture that allows this automatic to be housed in a case that is under 13mm thick, including the heavily domed acrylic crystal. Speaking of the case, it measures a very modern 42mm in diameter for a contemporary stance on the wrist.
This is a dream watch you really do not run into on any sort of regular basis. A rare opportunity indeed!
