Omega Seamaster Ref. 166.091

The Omega Seamaster series from Omega is extremely popular. As since 1948, coincidentally also the 100th anniversary of the brand, Omega has released the Seamaster and this model line is the oldest in the current collection. The first Omega Seamasters were based on the waterproof wristwatches that Omega made for the British Soldiers towards the end of the Second World War. The first Omega Seamaster was intended as a robust yet elegant watch for active owners who could wear a watch on all occasions. The first dive record achieved with an Omega Seamaster was in 1955 when diver Gordon McLean reached a depth of 62.5 meters in Australia.

In 1957, Omega introduced the Seamaster Professional line starting with the Omega Seamaster 300. This watch was the choice of many world-famous “explorers” and divers including Jacques-Yves Costeau. The Seamaster 600 was introduced in 1970. COMEX, a French underwater research company, tested the Seamaster 600 intensively in the late 1960s. The watch underwent a series of tests that showed that the watch continued to function up to 1370 meters underwater.

Finally, the bigger brother of the 600, the Seamaster 1000, came on the market in 1971. This particular watch was tested by attaching the watch to a robotic arm that was part of a submarine, in order to test the effect on the crystal glass at a depth of 1000 meters.

The Seamaster 200, the watch that we offer you here, has been tested to a depth of 200 meters. This model is supplied with different case types by Omega. This reference 166.091 shares the case with the Omega Flightmaster. The watch has the original case, dial and mesh strap. The hands have been replaced

It is a smart and sporty model. For lovers of vintage diving watches a must to have.
