Rolex Submariner Ref. 14060M Full set

A clean, sharp no-date Submariner from a sweetspot era.

It was back in 1990 when Rolex replaced the Ref. 5513 Submariner with the Ref. 14060. It can be regarded as the switch from vintage to modern Submariners.

Still, this sub looks quite different from the current-gen, with its wide body and shiny (even blingy) ceramic bezel. It is a little more elegant. A little more subdued. A little more like an oldskool tool watch, rather than a status symbol. At the same time, it features a sapphire crystal and thoroughly modern movement. Especially this later “M” model, with its 3130 caliber with larger balance wheel and full balance bridge.

This, then, is a bit of a sweetspot. Classic looks, modern tech.
