Rolex Datejust Ref 16013
The Rolex Datejust is one of the many classics that Rolex has put on the market and is still being sold. Although the model has always evolved since its introduction in 1945, the original “look” has always been retained. Even the early versions still look very modern, which once again proves the classic status.
“Buckley dial”:
Enthusiasts and collectors call this type of watch face the “Buckley”, after a striking American trader/collector John Buckley. These dials have a printed Roman index and come in different colour combinations.
Over the years, the paint of the dial discolours, just like here. No muscle white but now about 39 years later cream ivory in colour. Brilliant! (that’s the vintage element).
The timepiece is automatically driven and technically in order, ready for years of wearing pleasure. The 5-digit reference indicates that the date has a ‘quickset’ function.
“Buckley” is ready, you too?
