Rolex Datejust Ref 1601 Matte dial

A watch that defines the dresswatch.

The design diversity of the Datejust never ceases to amaze us. Rolex was able to create an everyday watch in a variety of styles throughout the years, including the reference 1601 you see here. This Datejust offers a fluted bezel that brings a dressier touch than the smooth and crenelated bezels of its sister references 1600 and 1603. The rest of the magical ingredients are still there, from the 36 mm waterproof Oyster case to the perfectly legible date at 3 o’clock. In the end, the Datejust remains a classic that does not need much explanation.

And this one is from the year 1969, a legendary year with the first landing on the moon, a cute combi. Iconic watch from an iconic year. The dial is a matte, rarer than the sunburst version. We did put on a vintage Croco strap from our private label made in Italy. A warm combination on these cold days!
