Omega Genève Admirality Ref. 166.038
In 1953, Omega embarked on a significant evolution by debuting the “Genève” insignia on their more refined 30mm watches. This nod paid homage to the pioneering Calibre 30mm, which had made waves at the Geneva Observatory with its remarkable achievements. As time progressed, the Genève moniker expanded its influence across Omega’s vast array of timepieces, including popular models like the Omega Dynamic, which enjoyed widespread production.
Among these revered pieces is the Genève Admiralty series from 1968, notable for its distinctive anchor motif adorning the dial. Initially featuring the Caliber 565 movement, also utilized in the Seamaster 300, the Admiralty series introduced date variations like the Reference 166.038. Boasting a sleek black dial with unique block markers and date complication, this model exudes a sporty allure.
Adding to its distinctiveness is the striking orange center sweep hand, perfectly complementing the anchor emblem and hour markers, infusing the timepiece with dynamic energy. Encased within a sturdy 36mm steel frame, complete with a screw-down case back and prominent crown guards, this watch comes equipped with its original fixo flex bracelet.
