Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grand Taille Ref. 270.2.62
Arguably the world’s first sports watch, this time executed in the large size and 18k rose gold. Yes, please!
It was back in 1931 when the Reverso was designed. The story goes that a polo player broke his watch during a match and showed it to a businessman by the name of Oscar de Trey. Together with Jacques LeCoultre, he came up with a solution; a watch case that could be reversed in its housing. During matches, a blank steel plate would face outward, protecting the vulnerable crystal and dial.
Forward nearly a century and the looks of the Reverso have aged magnificently. True, we consider the classical appearance more dressy than sporty today, but it is still as fresh and current as ever. This rose gold beauty in “Grand taille” size comes complete with box and papers.
