Jaeger Lecoultre Master Control
A modern classic.
Triple calendar watches have been around for a long time. They started off as a complication on pocket watches. In the 30s and 40s more and more wristwatches were produced with this calendar function since these watches were quite advanced pieces of technique at that time. Today, when you can find anything on the internet, practical watches with cool complications seem to be valued a little less. This doesn’t change the beauty and craftsmanship of such a Jaeger and the movement hidden inside.
What makes this Jaeger so beautiful is the balanced design. This watch is 39 mm. in diameter which is a good size for a gents dress watch. A little smaller could’ve done the job for any dress watch but to keep the design subtle and balanced with all the details that come with a triple calendar movement is a big challenge, and Jaeger nailed it with this model.
The slightly domed black dial gives this watch a bit of a vintage character, this feature was seen a lot in the 50s and 60s. The applied hour markers are quite glossy, which claim most of the attention going to this watch. The result is that you still have three windows in the dial for the days, months and the moon phase, however, they seem to fade away a little because of the glossiness of the case and hour markers, giving you the idea that this watch is not that busy. The original stainless steel bracelet keeps this watch sporty in a way, but a leather strap can be picked with this watch if that is what you’d prefer.
The condition of this watch is like new and it just had a full service by Jaeger Lecoultre so it’ll come with a 2-year international warranty. Visit our store for more information, we’re located in the Reestraat, Amsterdam.
